Spring King and Tell Me If You Like To Debut Album & Tour Dates
About Spring King and Tell Me If You Like To...

With no desire to relinquish control, the album was recorded and produced by the band’s talisman Tarek Musa at Chapel Studios and mixed at the infamous bathroom / Bungalow Beach Studios.

It flips dark lyrical content with an uplifting and high tempo; being chaotic, yet bold, defined and driving to the end. The band and album possess a raw energy that tears its way through garage sensibilities, whilst combining pop felt melodies and leaving everything in its wake.

Possessing the same 100mph, blink-and-you-missed-it spirit as their early tracks, title track ‘Tell Me If You Like To’ being a perfect example, the record is coupled with moments of stark clarity. New single ‘The Summer’, a song they see as a homage to their heroes The Beach Boys, showcases the band’s ability to pen huge festival worthy hits, whilst ’Rectifier’ and ‘Demons’ wrestle with themes of fear and paranoia.

Ultimately Spring King like party songs with a melancholic edge. Tarek vividly remembers summertime as a teen, guitar songs blaring out car stereos and soundtracking the reckless parties he’d host in his empty house. “I want this record to be that moment in other people’s lives.” With a desire to shun the fast route and after 200 gigs of being an unsigned band, to being made the first (and unsigned) band to be played on BEATS 1 while picking up support from media across the globe, incl. Radio 1, 6Music, Triple J, NPR, The Guardian, DIY, Stereogum and hitting the road with the likes of FIDLAR, Wolf Alice, Slaves and Courtney Barnett, Spring King’s journey is one of wonderment and is that of the unsung hero.

Perseverance is everything Spring King are and continue to be. From start to finish Tell Me If You Like To captures their journey to get to this point; building on their early promise and surpassing all expectations as they head straight for the top.

A century ago in Birmingham, a fearless criminal gang with razorblades sewn into their flat caps struck terror into an already lawless city. He's charismatic, suited and booted, smokes like a Steel works chimney and rules his gang with a rod of iron. Get ready for the Peaky Blinders this is their epic story set in the Black Country in the style of the American Wild West with blinding music. Music and Fashion come together at the Burberry February 2016 Show,

Just watched the London Fashion Week live stream and Jake Bugg 's cool acoustic performance on the catwalk at the Burberry February 2016 show. I first saw him was back in 2012 on Later -  with Jools Holland when he performed Trouble Town,  Country Song and the fantastic Lightning Bolt. That same year he was nominated for British Breakthrough Act at the Brit Awards. Trouble Town is now the theme tune for gritty Northern drama "Happy Valley" starring Sarah Lancashire

FYI James Bay began with a set at London Fashion Week Burberry SS15, he was just nominated for three Grammy Awards and will be up for four Brit Awards including British Breakthrough Act  2016 tonight (Wednesday 23rd Feb)

Heartache Tonight for fans of Glenn Frey.

Glenn Frey, guitarist and the founding member of the US rock group, The Eagles, died in New York on January 18th 2016. Frey co-wrote and sang some of the Eagles’ best-known songs, including Heartache Tonight, Take It Easy, and Lyin’ Eyes, and co-wrote Hotel California and Desperado with Don Henley. Hotel California, The Eagles' fifth album, sold 16 million copies in the US, and double that figure worldwide.

Next Big Thing: Jack Garret, winner of the BBC’s Sound of 2016 poll announces UK Tour, forthcoming single and debut album.

Jack Garratt is pleased to announce details of a new single, Worry, to be lifted from his forthcoming debut album, Phase, released on the 19th February through Island Records.

Worry is the song that started this incredible journey for Jack Garratt, some eighteen months ago. It was an undisputed highlight of a self-released debut EP that Jack put out back in 2014, and it’s long been an impressive highlight of the young British artist/producer’s live set.

The unveiling of Worry coincides with the news today that Jack has been crowned the winner of the BBC’s Sound of 2016 poll. It smartly follows Jack being named the BRITS Critics Choice for 2016 at February’s BRIT Awards, and picking up the BBC Introducing Award at the BBC Awards back in December.

The constant building and consequent success that Jack enjoyed in the UK last year was replicated across the globe too. Support slots in the UK and US with Mumford & Sons were also surrounded by sold-out dates of Jack’s own in the UK, US, and into Europe. It’s a live show that has mutated into a spectacle. Performing solo and armed with all the instruments Jack utilizes on Phase, it’s a breathtaking, multi-faceted performance that has already translated to far bigger stages (across the British and US arenas as a support act and at festivals), for which Jack is surely now destined to head by himself.

Soon after the debut album is released in February, Jack Garratt will head out on an eleven date UK/Ireland run, kicking off in Dublin at The Academy on the 30th March 2016, and concluding at a now sold-out O2 Academy Brixton in London on the 15th April.
