Jessie Ware ‘Imagine It Was Us’ PMR May 13 + ‘Devotion – Gold Edition’ available now

Since it’s release in summer of last year, Jessie Ware’s debut album ‘Devotion’ has become one of the most acclaimed records of the past twelve months, earning the singer fans from all quarters and recognition from the Mercury Prize panel and the Brits. A special album was re-released on April 15, with the addition of four bonus tracks including two previously unheard cuts – ‘Imagine It Was Us’ and ‘Wildest Moments (remix) Featuring A$AP Rocky’. Teaming up again with album collaborator Julio Bashmore, ‘Imagine It Was Us’ has one eye firmly on the dancefloor whilst retaining the sultry soulfulness that Jessie’s voice has garnered so much praise for. One person who has been vocal in his admiration for the South London singer is A$AP Rocky, who earlier this year announced that he was a big fan of hers and wanted to work on something together. This has led to ‘Wildest Moments (remix) Featuring A$AP Rocky’, in which the New York rapper adds his characteristic slow-paced drawl to the track, lending his own angle on the relationship strains the song explores. The other two tracks on the special edition album will no doubt already be known and loved by fans of Jessie. ‘Valentine’, a collaboration with silky-voiced singer Sampha was first released in the early stages of her career on February 14th 2011, whilst it was with their remix of ‘Running’ that fellow PMR-signees Disclosure set the stage for their remarkable ascent over the past year. ‘Devotion’ entered straight in to the Top 5 upon release in August of last year, and has since gone on to be shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, as well as settling comfortably in to the upper ends of many ‘Albums of the Year’ lists in December. Jessie also picked up nominations at this year’s Brit Awards, getting the nod for both ‘British Breakthrough Act’ and ‘British Female Solo Artist’. She is approaching the end of a sold-out UK tour, and will be embarking on a string of dates in Europe and the US in the coming months.

Something Better Came Along - Lower than Atlantis release new single

LOWER THAN ATLANTIS have announced the release of the single, Something Better Came Along. The track is the third single to be taken from their major label debut, Changing Tune.
Changing Tune (Deluxe Edition) - Lower Than Atlantis available on iTunes
Something Better Came Along - Changing Tune available on iTunes

Kid Cudi, Grammy Award winner, producer, song writer, acclaimed actor and one of hip hop’s most challenging and consistently innovative artists returned, with his highly anticipated third studio album, “Indicud” on April 15th. ‘Girls’, the forthcoming single featuring Too $hort is released on May 6th. “Indicud”, the follow up to 2010’s “Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager” comes loaded with features from the cream of today’s hottest artists, including A$AP Rocky and Haim. On ‘Solo Dollo Part II’ Cudi enlists the skills of hip hop heavyweight Kendrick Lamar, giving a new twist to part one, ‘Solo Dolo’, from his 2009 debut album “Man on the Moon: The End of Day”. Over the course of the album, Cudi expands his hip hop galaxy through mystical production, colourful soundscapes, and airtight rhyming. In less than 24 hours of going live, “Indicud” stormed up the US iTunes album charts, showing as the highest charting pre order on both the main album & hip hop album charts (#6 & #2 respectively). Cudi took to the internet to announce his latest project; trending on Twitter three times after leaking album track “Immortal”, and then took to Twitter again to reveal his self-designed album artwork and track-listing, all before an incredible performance on Jimmy Kimmel, watch it here. Backpackers and bloggers immediately jumped on Cudi back in 2008, as Kanye West proclaimed fandom online. West signed him to G.O.O.D. Music and enlisted Cudi for songwriting on "Heartless" and "Paranoid" from “808s & Heartbreak” as well as a cameo on "Welcome to Heartbreak". However, everything changed with the release of his official debut single "Day 'n' Nite". Always raising the bar and experimenting, “Indicud” comes fresh from the release of “WZRD”, an alternative rock project with Dot Da Genius, and his incredible feature on the G.O.O.D Music album “Cruel Summer” in 2012.
Full track listing for the album is as follows:

Half Moon Run – release debut single ‘Full Circle’

Canadian trio Half Moon Run are pleased to announce details of their debut single. ‘Full Circle’ which was released through Communion on the 8th April 2013. Fronted by Devon Portielje, Half Moon Run arrive from their Montreal rehearsal rooms with a debut album, local adoration, and endless links of hefty blog praise across the globe. Full Circle is a teasing example of why this acclaim has already become an tangible response. It’s the sound of hazy 60’s folk, imbued with three-part harmonies and warm, psychedelic undertones. Canadians rely on their finest musical exports to deliver the complex, the dynamic, and the interesting (Broken Social Scene, Arcade Fire, The Band, Metric), and Half Moon Run infuse their music with some of the finer points of all four. Percussive, rhythmic, and mightily impressive, Half Moon Run are a beguiling listen from their opening notes, but with a hugely impressive album due imminently, ‘Full Circle’ barely scratches the surface of what to expect.
Half Moon Run are: Devon Portielje, Connor Molander, Dylan Phillips.

‘Here’s Willy Moon’ Headline Show at Electric Ballroom + UK Festival Performances

Willy Moon  released his debut album ‘Here’s Willy Moon’ through Island Records on 8th April 2013. ‘Here’s Willy Moon’ was written, recorded and produced all on his own (with a few tracks being produced by Pulp's Steve Mackey) and he doesn’t blend different sounds; he smashes them together. There’s no middle ground. It’s as if rock’n’roll had been deep-frozen in 1965, just before the Beatles discovered acid, and abruptly reanimated 45 years later by a laptop hip hop producer. Willy Moon doesn’t like to waste time. His debut album, ‘Here’s Willy Moon’, is less than 29 minutes long. Only one of its 12 songs lasts more than three minutes and not a single note is squandered. No bets were hedged during the making of this record. "My album is short like my songs. I always loved the relentlessness and excitement of that first Ramones album and there's something of that spirit in there. I think it will surprise people who've only heard Yeah Yeah, there's some slower, more atmospheric songs on it and one that even last for over three minutes...ha!" Willy is 23, and whip-smart with a tinder-dry sense of humour. He loves the physical energy of Cab Calloway and Michael Jackson, the concision of the Ramones, and the style of film noir. Willy’s 2011 release, ‘I Wanna Be Your Man’, was the kind of truly great debut single that makes the listener ask: Who is this person? And where did they come from? In the video he struts and jerks and testifies in a spotlight, over a monstrously metallic Bo Diddley beat. It was quite an introduction and it made him some discerning fans. Jack White released ‘Railroad Track’ on his Third Man label and invited him to support him on his UK tour. Apple picked up his Wu-Tang-sampling barnburner ‘Yeah Yeah’ for its latest iPod ad while French director Alex Courtes (White Stripes, U2, Justice) directed the song’s thrilling video. Willy spent last summer playing festivals across Europe, including Cannes film festival and recently made his startling debut on BBC2’s Later… With Jools Holland. ‘Here’s Willy Moon’ stays true to Willy’s love of extreme contrast. ‘Railroad Track’ is like Kanye West’s ‘Jesus Walks’ rearranged for a 1930s chain gang. ‘She Loves Me’ crunches Hamburg Beatles into shuddering quasi-dubstep. ‘Get Up’ is seize-the-day hip-hop blues. The instrumental ‘Murder Ballad’ sounds like Tom Waits wandering through a haunted car yard. The cover versions make alliances with the weirdos of 50s rock’n’roll: Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ ‘I Put a Spell on You’ and Little Willie John’s neurotically horny ‘I’m Shakin’’ (recently covered by – who else? – Jack White). Then there are the songs that sound like they should be covers but aren’t: the blue-collar howl of ‘Working for the Company’ and industrial Phil Spectorisms of ‘My Girl’. It’s an unusual record because Willy Moon is an unusual man.

The Golden Age. Debut Album from Woodkid/Video

Woodkid, the Grammy-nominated French director/artist/producer/musician behind acclaimed videos for Lana Del Rey’s global hit Born To Die, Drake & Rihanna’s Take Care and Katy Perry‘s Teenage Dream, steps out from behind the camera with the release on Island Records of his debut album ”The Golden Age”. The eagerly awaited album follows Woodkid’s 2011 EP Iron, the video for which attracted more than 25 million views. In fact Kendrick Lamar one of the hottest and most lauded rappers to emerge in recent years, samples Woodkid’s “Iron” on his track The Spiteful Chant. Sonic images from the song were also used by the makers of Assassin’s Creed:Revelation for their blockbuster launch. The collaboration continued for the launch of Assassin’s Creed 3 when they used Woodkid’s second single “Run Boy Run” in their global advertising campaign. “The Golden Age” was written and produced by Woodkid and featured songs on the 14-track set include “Run Boy Run”, “I Love You”, “The Shore”, “Falling”, “Iron”, “The Other Side” and the title track. Yoann Lemoine aka Woodkid, is widely regarded as one of the most creative and exciting artists working in the contemporary music, as witnessed by his hugely acclaimed videos for Global superstars Lana Del Ray and Drake & Rihanna amongst others. Indeed he earned a Grammy nomination for his own song “Run Boy Run” at this year’s Grammy Awards. Woodkid is the musical artist, the songwriter/singer/lyricist/producer, who has made this beautiful record. The visual aspect remains a hugely important with Woodkid directing all his own videos and turning his live performances into a spectacle rarely seen in the world of pop music. Together with a 30-piece orchestra, he turned the venerable Le Grand Rex theatre in Paris into a place of ecstasy in front of 3,000 adoring fans last September. “When I started playing my own music, I wanted it to be as tall as a skyscraper. Images can achieve that. A really big orchestra can also achieve that.” This creative ambition and artistic freedom have allowed Woodkid to make such a unique sounding and powerful album as The Golden Age. “It’s all about that time of passage between adolescence and adulthood, into that confusing hyper-reality,” Woodkid notes. “I talk about those perceptible changes of the body, that budding sexuality, wanting to be different from the norm, like in the first line on Run Boy Run: ‘Run Boy Run!/This world is not made for you’.” It’s about love, life and death. Striving for your own identity. Those basic crises of adolescence. “I always play the part of the sympathetic observer.”

Since the release of ‘Your Drums, Your Love’, AlunaGeorge have rapidly established themselves as one of the UK’s brightest prospects. The London duo’s latest offering has arrived in the form of ‘Attracting Flies’, available now on iTunes, via Island Records. Amidst a flurry of hyped shows and putting the finishing touches to their highly anticipated debut album Body Music, due on July 8th, the duo have been picking up fans left, right and centre. Alongside their own incredible achievements AlunaGeorge’s recent collaboration with Disclosure on ‘White Noise’ quickly racked up over a million plays online and reached number two in the UK charts. Also nominated for the prestigious BRITs Critic’s Choice Award, another accolade to add to their number two spot in BBC’s Sound of 2013 poll, and their achievement of being the UK’s most blogged about artist at the close of 2012. AlunaGeorge recently played yet another sold out show, at London’s XOYO, and only a handful of tickets to their biggest London headline show to date, at Electric Brixton on 20th June remain. Single ‘Attracting Flies’ packs a lot into three minutes. An incredibly infectious riff starts the track off before it plunges into George’s trademark thick, clipped beats and synth parts, complemented by Aluna’s honeyed confrontational vocals, as she pulls apart an unwanted tagger on – “Your invitation’s a fake / Must be from a ticket tout.” The slowed-down UK garage style chorus feels as good as it should and drops easily back into that riff before the stripped back middle eight hammers home Aluna’s sweet-sounding dismissive lyrics – “Why would I care if you want me?” Esteemed director Emil Nava provides the music video taking us through an urban fairytale. Click HERE to view the video.

Remixes include Billboard Hot100 viral sensation Baauer and LuckyMe’s S-Type and more.

“A crisp, post R&B collation of negative space, beats skitters and surface-breaking melodies” – Independent
“A pop sensibility collides with weird electronics to startling effect” – Guardian
“Lustrous, sinister and ever so slightly weird” – Pitchfork

Fourth Album from eclectic singer/rsongwriter Matt Costa

Matt Costa, the self-titled fourth album from the acclaimed, eclectic singer/songwriter is set for April 22nd via Brushfire Records. “Good Times”, the lead single from the album, was released on April 4th. Matt Costa is a 10-song collection of new songs recorded in Scotland with long-time Belle & Sebastian/Mogwai collaborator Tony Doogan. On the new release, Costa thoughtfully mines elements of the past, while exploring new territory. His penchant for melodic exploration is on full display throughout the new offering. The songs, sounds, lyrics and overall vibe of the album have elevated Costa to a new artistic plane. Matt Costa initially set out to make an album of folk/roots-inspired songs, but when he arrived in Glasgow, something else transpired and changed the direction of the recording. Perhaps it was the magic of Scotland, the studio (Castle of Doom), Doogan or the incredible musicians he collaborated with, which include Belle & Sebastian’s Stevie Jackson, Chris Geddes and Bobby Kildea. Whatever it was, it is evident that Costa has made a real statement with his strongest work to date. Costa blends expansive horn and string arrangements with ethereal harmonies and his warm vocals. The songs on Matt Costa run the gamut from lush, elaborate arrangements (“Golden Cathedrals”) to nostalgic British pop (“Early November”) to dreamy folk (“Ophelia”) to enchanting ballads (“Eyes For You”).

"About Time" for R&B pop prince Angel new album

Hot on the heels of supporting US star Trey Songz on his sell out Hammersmith Apollo shows (at his request), the UK’s new R&B pop prince Angel released his sensational new single ‘The World’ on April 8th ahead of the release of his debut album ‘About Time’ on April 15th. 2012 saw Angel rise from underground producer and songwriter (penning songs for the likes of Pixie Lott, Jason Derulo and Roll Deep among others) to R&B Renaissance man and artist in his own right. Earmarked as one to watch by MTV and HMV and crowned ‘the new face of UK R&B’ by Radio 1 at the top of the year, Angel went on to release top-10 summer anthem ‘Wonderful’, support One Direction at the iTunes Festival, and receive two nominations for the 2012 MOBO Awards (Best Newcomer and Best R&B/Soul Act). Having rapidly become the name on everyone’s lips, Angel has been asked to write for Rihanna, been in the studio with Dizzee Rascal and Lewis Hamilton, and collaborated with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Giggs and Wiley while also notching up an impressive list of fans in everyone from JLS, Tinie Tempah and Example through to Rio Ferdinand, Cheryl Cole and One Direction. Furthermore, with the likes of Frank Ocean, Michael Kiwanuka, Chipmunk and Wretch 32 on his forthcoming debut album (due for release later this year) combined with already accumulating over 10 million online video views, it’s evident that Angel is about to not only go over ground, but stratospheric. Anthemic new track ‘The World’ is the latest single from Angel’s forthcoming debut album. A poignant track with an electrifying hook and pulsating beat, ‘The World’ is an undeniable hit that is sure to not only become a common request on dance floors across the country, but also make an impressionable dent on the UK charts. Directed by the legendary X (Justin Bieber, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Usher, Jay Z) and co-starring actress Zaraah Abrahams (Waterloo Road, Coronation Street), the cinematic visual accompanying the single refuses to disappoint. Remixes are also provided by the likes of Mike Delinquent, Shift Key and Erol Sabadosh.
