"About Time" for R&B pop prince Angel new album
Hot on the heels of supporting US star Trey Songz on his sell out Hammersmith Apollo shows (at his request), the UK’s new R&B pop prince Angel released his sensational new single ‘The World’ on April 8th ahead of the release of his debut album ‘About Time’ on April 15th. 2012 saw Angel rise from underground producer and songwriter (penning songs for the likes of Pixie Lott, Jason Derulo and Roll Deep among others) to R&B Renaissance man and artist in his own right. Earmarked as one to watch by MTV and HMV and crowned ‘the new face of UK R&B’ by Radio 1 at the top of the year, Angel went on to release top-10 summer anthem ‘Wonderful’, support One Direction at the iTunes Festival, and receive two nominations for the 2012 MOBO Awards (Best Newcomer and Best R&B/Soul Act). Having rapidly become the name on everyone’s lips, Angel has been asked to write for Rihanna, been in the studio with Dizzee Rascal and Lewis Hamilton, and collaborated with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Giggs and Wiley while also notching up an impressive list of fans in everyone from JLS, Tinie Tempah and Example through to Rio Ferdinand, Cheryl Cole and One Direction. Furthermore, with the likes of Frank Ocean, Michael Kiwanuka, Chipmunk and Wretch 32 on his forthcoming debut album (due for release later this year) combined with already accumulating over 10 million online video views, it’s evident that Angel is about to not only go over ground, but stratospheric. Anthemic new track ‘The World’ is the latest single from Angel’s forthcoming debut album. A poignant track with an electrifying hook and pulsating beat, ‘The World’ is an undeniable hit that is sure to not only become a common request on dance floors across the country, but also make an impressionable dent on the UK charts. Directed by the legendary X (Justin Bieber, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Usher, Jay Z) and co-starring actress Zaraah Abrahams (Waterloo Road, Coronation Street), the cinematic visual accompanying the single refuses to disappoint. Remixes are also provided by the likes of Mike Delinquent, Shift Key and Erol Sabadosh.
