FLYTE REVEAL new video"Cathy Come Home", Debut Album "The Love Ones", Headline Scala & UKTour Dates
Today Flyte reveal the remarkable video for 'Cathy Come Home', produced by legendary collective CANADA (Tame Impala, El Guincho) and directed by rising filmmaker Femke Huurdeman. A discovery of coming of age nostalgia and cinematic delicacy, the song takes its name from the 1966 BBC play directed by Ken Loach. "To us, being English is all about that undercurrent of sadness" says lead singer Will Taylor, "It's what's inspired the whole record. Cathy Come Home is about parents dealing with an empty nest, struggling to let their children out into the world". Cathy Come Home is lifted from Flyte's debut record – The Loved Ones – the title announced today and set for release on August 25 on Island Records, with pre-order available now.

In the school of Grizzly Bear, Alt J, and Fleet Foxes, Flyte have used their four voices to guide their sound, avoiding crashing cymbals and layers of electric guitars in favour of a more crafted, constructed approach. Not so much drawing on his own life as seeking experiences to then reflect upon, Will's style of writing has as much in common with George Orwell as it does with Nick Drake, Ray Davies, or any number of songwriters who have tapped into the English malaise for inspiration, the album taking its name from Evelyn Waugh's tragic story The Loved One.
Flyte separately admit that as early as age ten, a career in music was their only ambition. Drummer Jon Supran and bassist Nick Hill met guitarist Will at their local comprehensive school, where Will's parents both taught English. They later came upon keys player Sam Berridge busking at Tottenham Court Road station after moving to Hackney in their late teens. Accomplished songwriters who quickly earned a reputation for their trademark vocal arrangements and live show, the band released a flurry of alternative singles before pairing up with Courtney Barnett producer Burke Reid to create their first full length record.
Flyte's debut album The Loved Ones is out on August 25 2017
