Sigrid releases original song "Home to You" - featured in Eddie Redmaynew's film "The Aeronauts" Soundtrack
Today Norwegian pop sensation Sigrid releases the first new music since her critically acclaimed debut album Sucker Punch, writing original song ‘Home To You’ for the motion picture The Aeronauts, starring Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones.
Directed by Tom Harper, the film shines a light on feminist and pioneer Amelia Wren (Felicity Jones) – the daredevil balloon pilot who teams up with ground-breaking meteorologist James Glaisher (Eddie Redmayne) – to advance human knowledge and fly higher than anyone in history.
The sentiment of the importance of ‘home’ resonates with the 23-year-old BBC Sound of 2018 winner, from the tiny coastal town of Alesund in Norway, who has travelled the world and become one of the biggest breakout pop star of the last few years. Following a 5-week American tour, Sigrid is back in the UK next month to begin her biggest headline run to date: playing Ireland’s 3Arena on 22 November to London’s Eventim Apollo on 4 December.
The Norwegian pop star’s natural talent, impassioned live presence and defiant hit songs have captured the hearts and minds of fans across the globe. Playing a knock-out show at Capital’s Summertime Ball to 80,000 people, Sigrid’s accolades are far reaching. Winning the BBC Sound of 2018, playing to 30,000 people Glastonbury and going viral with a fan moment, featuring in the Observer's Greta Thunburg interview special, to bewitching TV audiences on The Royal Variety, Nobel Peace Prize, Later…with Jools Holland, and The Graham Norton Show, Sigrid’s global streams have now hit 850M and as her star continues to rise.
Entertainment One will release The Aeronauts, an Amazon Original film, on 4 November in UK cinemas. ‘Home To You’ features on the official movie soundtrack, released via Decca.
