Focus Music Notes - Bring Back the Blues

Good news at last. I've just watched Good Morning on ITV featuring Morgan Freeman and his aim to bring back the Blues.  

Morgan Freeman produced and narrated the 12-track album Morgan Freeman's Symphonic Blues Experience, which celebrates a century of Mississippi Delta blues with Decca Classics recorded between Royal Studios in Memphis and Abbey Road Studios in London.


The album also features artists Taj Mahal, Keb' Mo', Shemekia Copeland, and the Chineke! Orchestra.

 

Described as a "A SOUL-STIRRING MUSICAL JOURNEY THROUGH THE HEART OF THE MISSISSIPPI DELTA........bringing the front porch to the world stage, proving that while the Delta's fortunes may change, its soul is eternal"

Soundtracks for Film and TV. Dexter's Morning Routine

I 've just finished binge-watching the complete series of Showtime's 'Dexter' Seasons 1-8.   Wow not just incredible storylines and fabulous acting but I never got tired of the original opening soundtrack for each episode. The ' Morning Routine'   Title Sequence is absolutely brilliant and that bright, brooding trickling (may be blood curdling) music   was composed and performed by Rolfe Kent. Even now that tune is 'stuck in my head' probably reminding me that many of Dexter's victims actually lost theirs. We have now just finished the follow-up series 'New Blood' but I did miss that unforgettable soundtrack. The series includes a stellar cast with the title role of Dexter played by American award winning actor Michael C.
